Natural color green onto cotton fiber!

Found this link  http://www.asiantextilestudies.com/green.html  with beautiful colors and lots of

info on what people have figured out to get greens on cotton. Coral trees leaves were used in 1 and have seen Coral trees in a few places as landscaping. Some dyeing use lime (can get high alkalinity from ash water) from shells (Oyster). Wonder if can get Oyster shells from Whole Foods. Will look at the other plants different peoples have found work for this.

Mask Wearing

So many studies on wearing a masks and also making for med wear if run out.
This study of wearing cloth masks for HCW, Health care workers.  https://bmjopen.bmj.com/content/5/4/e006577   A health officer of 1 county thought best for public not to wear a mask as were buying a reduced availability item needed by HCW. Also breathing thru some materials might cause health problems, such as formaldehyde coating on some fabrics, or particulates such as cotton in a mill has caused (unspin ) lung illnesses.  https://vcportal.ventura.org/CEO/VCNC/2020-05-05_VCNC_Masks_Pros_and_Cons.pdf
https://www.wellspringcls.com/face-masks-pose-serious-risks/   https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/j.1600-0404.2005.00560.x  lists HCW where headaches increased with mandetory mask usage (N95). Am guessing since a 2003 stressfull time that also played a part in.
This ia part of Dr Blaylock post which another website said was not correct, and no ref. (I found references) study, researchers examined the blood oxygen levels in 53 surgeons using an oximeter. They measured blood oxygenation before surgery as well as at the end of surgeries.4 The researchers found that the mask reduced the blood oxygen levels (pa02) significantly. The longer the duration of wearing the mask, the greater the fall in blood oxygen levels.
The importance of these findings is that a drop in oxygen levels (hypoxia) is associated with an impairment in immunity. Studies have shown that hypoxia can inhibit the type of main immune cells used to fight viral infections called the CD4+ T-lymphocyte. This occurs because the hypoxia increases the level of a compound called hypoxia inducible factor-1 (HIF-1), which inhibits T-lymphocytes and stimulates a powerful immune inhibitor cell called the Tregs. . This sets the stage for contracting any infection, including COVID-19 and making the consequences of that infection much graver. In essence, your mask may very well put you at an increased risk of infections and if so, having a much worse outcome.5,6,7

Having some problems sometimes, (seems to depend on which store am in) when using a mask and feeling like not getting enough air. This has happened on really hot days and walking fast with a load and no mask also. Have experimented with various materials , bandana, scarf, surgeon mask bus driver gave me. N95 given to me during bad fire season. Was thinking a real wool mask  felted, no dyes or pesticides or stuff on it, might work well.
Have seen some elderly people who look in trouble walking and wear a mask that seems to make all more of effort, but who is going to a Dr to ask if ok or not to wear a mask. Have been growing more foods, herbs on patio, so not have to shop as much.  Be Well

Breathing, vite C,

While looking up Dr Pall's protocol, (think he had trouble with NO/Nox reactions and maybe dysautonomia, forget. He put together a list of supps that helped him, and Some were nebulizing glutathione, and list vite c but also be cautious. I tried vite c about age 16 when felt like might get a cold but was afraid to try it as most medicines reacted to. Went for it, the whole 500mg and next day , boom, a cold. So learned for me try in little bits thru out day and see if better.
Dr Pall said be cautious -
to avoid giving high dose ascorbate to those who may have high free iron levels.  In individuals with high free iron, high dose ascorbate is dangerous because it can generate high levels of Fenton chemistry.
So is that bad or good or depends?

Is any of this info was helpful if got covid and would Dr's consider using it, in hospital ?
free iron to prevent it from generating toxic quantities ... When there is a high serum level of reduced ascorbic acid, it drives through the pores of the ferritin ... radical intermediates drove the Fenton reaction. ... of dangerous excess catalytic iron from harmless iron ... single dose of vitamin C releasing so much catalytic iron ...

Iron supplements: the quick fix with long-term consequences

Anna EO Fisher and Declan P Naughton

This was interesting on Thyroid
http://www.krispin.com/thyroid.html
  1. Reseach suggests autoimmune thyroiditis, both Hashimoto's and Grave's, may be associated with an IMBALANCE of iodine and selenium. Both trace elements, along with zinc and iron, are needed for healthy thyroid function and the balance (as in all things) is the key. Just adding either (without balance) may make thyroid issues worse. Currently the ratio is not known but likely it is not less than 500 mcg nor more than 1,000 mcg of iodine and not less than 200 mcg nor more than 400 mcg methylselenocysteine. Curr Opin Endocrinol Diabetes Obes. 2013 Oct;20(5):441-8. doi: 10.1097/01.med.0000433066.24541.88. Review.
  2. Olive Leaf Extract has been clinically shown to increase the conversion of T4 into T3 likely by increasing the enzyme that does the conversion. This may be a very simple way to enhance thyroid function. Effective dose is likely 500-1,000 mg daily. Phytother Res. 2002 May;16(3):286-7

CLAY colors

Clay
Have found pockets of clay in the yards as well as sand , a few places rocks.
Put some on jars with water and tried ' painting on wood.
Might try later with something sticky like rice paste or algae or a starch.

Different clay found around yard and town (blue is old indigo vat )

WHile looking up Lysine : arginine ratios in foods (both are amino acids, required for human health),
wondered if sars2 virus effected like virus that causes cold sores, by diet higher in arginine (make person more suse[tible).  Maybe someon can find tha info online. Have been adding Kefir (milk probiotic ) that is higher in lysine (high in arginine also, but much less than lysine). Found a note on 1 website that " potassium rich vegetables such as spinach, red/sweet potatoes, kale and asparagus for example can raise intracellular calcium and trigger herpes reactivation." Really curious how higher potassium raises calcium, so looked up. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/03/130325160231.htm  they found that calcium release occurs because the viruses activate a critical cell-signaling molecule called Akt at the cell membrane.
SO look for a AKT inhibitor?
websearch - inhibiting Akt natural treatment herbs  - found quite a bit of stuff

lots of info to consider here  https://www.dynamicchiropractic.com/mpacms/dc/article.php?id=53184

The website mentioned h2o2 , hydrogen peroxide, but didnt make sense after searched that sentence.

Staying Healthy and making choices

There are so many ways to improve our own health.

Calif coast Iris cultivar someone gave me,
Eat real foods, have heard of people with diabetis that rid all meds doing that, which am guessing would be better outcome if covid19. Some youtube vids on some forms of heart disease also on eating real foods and low carb, (but think depends on the person, environments, lifestyle, and genetics ) and tests that show calcium in arteries. Ivor Cummins who is YT on heart disease, and says its the plant seed oils that cause a huge problems as oxidize and damage arteries.

Increasing the concentration of intracellular zinc with zinc‐ionophores like pyrithione can efficiently impair the replication of a variety of RNA viruses.44
     Selenium
Selenium is an essential trace element for mammalian redox biology.35 The nutritional status of the host plays a very important role in the defense against infectious diseases.36 Nutritional deficiency impacts not only the immune response but also the viral pathogen itself.10 Dietary selenium deficiency that causes oxidative stress in the host can alter a viral genome so that a normally benign or mildly pathogenic virus can become highly virulent in the deficient host under oxidative stress.10
 B vitamins
B vitamins are water‐soluble vitamins and work as part of coenzymes. Each B vitamin has its special functions. For example, vitamin B2 (riboflavin) plays a role in the energy metabolism of all cells. Vitamin B2 deficiency had been suspected to occur among US elderly.17 Keil et al18 had reported that vitamin B2 and UV light effectively reduced the titer of MERS‐CoV in human plasma products. Vitamin B3, also called nicotinamide, could enhance the killing of Staphylococcus aureus through a myeloid‐specific transcription factor and vitamin B3 was efficacious in both prophylactic and therapeutic settings.19 Moreover, vitamin B3 treatment significantly inhibited neutrophil infiltration into the lungs with a strong anti‐inflammatory effect during ventilator‐induced lung injury. However, it also paradoxically led to the development of significant hypoxemia.20

Is there info on Dr Ben Lynch related to covid19 ?
Recall arginine (nuts) can increase viral activity and lysine (in yogurt...) can decrease
Pumpkin seeds have one of the highest concentrations of the amino acid, with a cup of dried pumpkin or squash seeds providing 6.905 grams (g) of arginine. Raw peanuts provide 4.567 g of arginine per cup.  Chicken contains 2.790 g of arginine per cup.
questions
Why are health care workers getting covid19 - If do have plenty of PPE, change masks, Is it that contagious?
Realize some medical people werent getting enough masks, and many people have been trying to make masks and get N95 for hospitals.

Learning, Doing, Being

Hi All,
Well, feel kinda like off kilter abit as usually have day off of Sunday, and today feel like lazy, as
mostly sat around (did put chopped veggies , onion skin, part of chicken back, garlic, ginger in a pot).
Why did I go out yesterday to market (started pouring rain as got off bus), if had gone today (no rain but drearier), it worked out fine anyway. Got cabbage, O Kefir, Acorn squash, eggs, ...
Wonder how many people have a mild case of covid and howmany got flu or colds. So many people are learning new things, bread making, bird watching ...

Healthier ways, foods with nutrients, herbs and spices

Things to research or just try:    Acupressure or reflexology or
Just a little at start, like if you started exercising, wouldnt go for 50pushups 1st day, work up to goal.
Can find info in books, onilne (Youtube or other vid can be amazing, local library maybe open or have online books, audio...

Washing hands and some guy on news suggested NAILs as well. Do have a few wood/bristle nail brushes bought years ago from 99c stoe. Have been starting to wash glasses at same time, and noticed vision seems better.
Am doing laundry now, as wondered how often to wash pillowcases, hand towels or use papertowels. Were just sticking with hand towels now (son actually washed them).
Am reducing stuff carry in pockets and purse/backoack, so less stuff to sanitize and touch. Guess could spray purse with alcohol, but no stores around here have it. Find which hand and other sanitizer or disinfectants are least toxic, espec if have children. Some have instructions to use in welll ventilated area. Same with cooking, if cold or rainy out and lots of cooking, best if vent so no problem with carbon monoxide. Or electric cooker or heat water and put in thermos....  Recall a serious cold went around 10-15 yrs ago and people who hadnt turned on house heater yet, hadnt got the cold.
Am using some hydrogen peroxide and a tiny bit of alcohol left in a bottle. If make (even nonsew ) masks, rewash daily (maybe only wear 3-4hrs).
Someone said they were using orange blossoms for evening tea, found some (dont collect if pesticide sprays or near a busy road) and were nice. Dont know if healing but smelled so nice. Also saw someone had tea of Marigold, and researched and found Calendulas also nice for tea. Knew help with healing skin quickly (dont use lavender or calendula on skin unless sure not infected as have seen them heal skin quickly, so dont want to heal over infection.) I have Calendula and lavender growing.  Wonder what herbs , spices we have in our cupboards and use on foods that are helpful now.

mentions ACE2 (and cytokine storm), think a protein that sars2 virus attaches to and herbs with different effects. Had read a Dr from Oregon said a ferritin lab could see if patient might have cytokine issues. Wonder if previous SARS people didnt get ill or mild illness?

Doing

Hi
Have been trying to get stuff done and realize most people are going thru a decompressing from being busy and having more structure to figureing how to restructure in a flexible way. Figuring whats more important to do . Someone said he quit smoking when working at home as such a change in normal habits. Some children learning to play outside. Also a feel of some anxiety or mass worry. Saw an article of positive mental health effects of knitting, which could be applied as well from crochet, drawing, singing,]....  https://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2016/01/25/the-health-benefits-of-knitting/
Dod see a free childrens craft at Creativebus and many free classes at Blueprint.com.  Here  - free knitting patterns https://www.interweave.com/free-knitting-patterns/  . https://www.creativebug.com/classseries/single/foundational-figure-drawing-heads
Things to do: Did make a list for us to go thru pantry and see what keep, use quickly , wipe out crumps. Same with fridge. (3 shelves done on pantry ).  Learn to Distitch knitting, finish dying fabric with leaves and onion skins. Clean up counter of notes and papers by phone. Take pics of butterflies. Have been going on many short walks. Tried to sew a protective mask. (will try again).
Rick on the travel show has broken up Europe into 3-5 min peices for children https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTwPe-y4En0
WIll try to list ideas for sanitizing, how to do safely as some disinfectants are unhealthy for people.

Also, how well we eat, digest can help stay healthier. Some herbs are amazingly useful as well as tasty.

Knitting Machine. KX 350 if it can be fixed?

Want to use my Knitting machine a brother KX-350, but it's making rough (louder than usual) sounds and noticed marks or rouge small gouge areas on a few bed between some needles. Also see a few rough spots under carriage on the flippers. In case anyone knows what causes or if sanding it smooth would get it back to working let me know. So many amazing people who share information and how to on their blogs and YOUTUBE ( YT). Am trying to get my pics on YT as dont have a videoer, but could use sons smart phone for that. Really want to make socks as feet/toes Sooo cold, and a top. and another hat. maybe long bottoms.
Most of needles arnt floppy (move when tilt bed) , though the part where upper bed shows rough bits, those needles are. Was going to replace the sponge. Myabe try air tubing that answerlady did on one of her YT.
There is some round area on center part

The area with rough bits on top of knitting machine bed

The edge of flipper and a groove acroos it by thumb going to the right.
Noticed this time the tiny bit off corner. Wonder how much would effect the knitting. Thanks for any ideas to help this knitting machine work well again. Made a vest last on it with many types of yarn but stopped near end when was concerned about machine.
