consider avoiding it. Was told they are required by the fire department to clear 100 ft from homes. WOnder if other ways
as saw in a few videos are reducing desertification. Some were using grazing animals like cows. Does it work same with
goats, sheep, wild animals. Some places people used to do a burn at ok times of the year (when little creatures had grown enuf t
run away and whn more moisture in area to reduce a runaway fire. How do we do that in our yards? Maybe weedwacking or borrow sheep or flatten
weedy grasses or trim plants.... coming back. Was sad to see the Celest Blue Sage had no leaves and dry stems, but had seen that happen with
another sage and trimmed back and a month later it started sprouting leaves on stems had thought were dead.
Someone in our town who grows natives to replace in natural habitat, was kind enough to offer ideas if I posted
photos of yard. Have a few bare areas, as also a Wooly Blue curls didnt make it, and a Verbena. Am learning the
Verbeneas need to be trimmed back of dead wood. Also helped to have a few rains. Though before tried watering
and it seem to have killed 1. Was hoping to have room for a Toyon, though it might overshade a few plants that
dont need much shade. East side of driveway in mostly sand, so can water more in summer and west side is mostly
clay, then a slope, that has a white sage that dies back after water or lots of rain.
Last November
Wondering how much to trim

MASKS
Effects of wearing N95 and surgical facemasks on heart rate, thermal stress and subjective sensations

Published online 2005 May 26. doi: 10.1007/s00420-004-0584-4

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7087880/ Facemasks are critical components of personal protective equipment (PPE)
for healthcare workers, particularly when those workers are dealing
with transmitted diseases, such as the severe acute respiratory syndrome
(SARS) outbreak that occurred in March 2003. Seto et al. (2003)
performed a case study in five Hong Kong hospitals, involving 241
non-infected staff and 13 infected staff who were exposed to 11 patients
with SARS, and they concluded that SARS was contagious by droplets.
results from the experiment demonstrate that heart rate, microclimate
(temperature, humidity) and subjective ratings were significantly
influenced by the wearing of different kinds of facemasks.
The surface temperature outside the facemask was lower, and the
temperature in the facemask microclimate was significantly higher, for
the N95 masks than for the surgical masks (Fig. 3),
indicating that the heat loss from the respiratory tract is more
difficult to endure in N95 masks, inducing higher heat stress and
perception of discomfort.
It is interesting to note that no significant difference was found
between nano-treated and untreated facemasks for physiological
measurements and subjective perceptions, even though nano-treated
surgical and N95 facemasks were perceived to be slightly less
uncomfortable. On the other hand, subjective preferences for the
nano-treated surgical masks were significantly higher than those for the
untreated surgical facemasks. This indicates that the nano-functional
treatment of surgical and N95 facemasks does not have significant
negative effects on the thermophysiological responses and subjective
Some people dont think what you eat and drink effects your health ! (or what think, do , activities...)

If someone drinks soda and find a healthy or at least healthier alternitive. If eat lots of processed sugar and foods, can try to find good substitute. People are dying and feel so little is said on radio, TV , newspapers on helping to stay healthier and avoid illnesses. Who is controling all those "news" outlets?

Try to find more REAL food, not so much fried foods (like potato chips...). Most are made with high omega 6 oils which we need, but not at expense of eating omega 3 fats like in some seeds but mostly fish. I am hoping you all are increasing in your health and have found ways to share info. Have also found somethings like acupressure /reflexology/Pain Erasure(Bonnie)/Trigger pt... which are all type of healing self and we all may do it by rubbing forehead for head pain .....

Really interesting on Thiamine deficiency being much more common than thought.
https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyt.2019.00207/full Neurological, Psychiatric, and Biochemical Aspects of Thiamine Deficiency in Children and Adults Shibani Dhir1†, Maya Tarasenko1†, Eleonora Napoli1 and Cecilia Giulivi1,2* 1Department of Molecular Biosciences, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis, Davis, CA, United States brain is highly vulnerable to thiamine deficiency due to its heavy reliance on mitochondrial ATP production. body does not store thiamine in levels >30 mg, and the half-life for thiamine is only 9–18 days. proportionally increase thiamine’s dietary demand (a minimum of 0.33 mg per 1,000 kcal) (1). Thus, rather than focusing on thiamine’s RDA, it is critical to match its intake with carbohydrate consumption as well as total caloric intake. thiamine inactivation by heat and/or sulfur dioxide deficiency can result from genetic factors, i.e., pathogenic gene mutations in key regulators of the thiamine pathway, including thiamine pyrophosphokinase 1 (TPK1), thiamine diphosphate kinase (TDPK), thiamine triphosphatase (THTPA), and thiamine transporters (SLC25A19, SLC19A2/THTR1, and SLC19A3/THTR2; Figure 1B). More recently, the organic cation transporter 1 (OCT1) has been claimed to act as a hepatic thiamine transporter (25).
Coral trees leaves were used in 1 and have seen Coral trees in a few places as landscaping. Some dyeing use lime (can get high alkalinity from ash water) from shells (Oyster). Wonder if can get Oyster shells from Whole Foods. Will look at the other plants different peoples have found work for this.

lynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04056688708275941877noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445440348024407894.post-36047630433098986962020-07-04T09:08:00.002-07:002020-07-04T09:10:17.120-07:00Mask WearingSo many studies on wearing a masks and also making for med wear if run out.
This study of wearing cloth masks for HCW, Health care workers. https://bmjopen.bmj.com/content/5/4/e006577 A health officer of 1 county thought best for public not to wear a mask as were buying a reduced availability item needed by HCW. Also breathing thru some materials might cause health problems, such as formaldehyde coating on some fabrics, or particulates such as cotton in a mill has caused (unspin ) lung illnesses. https://vcportal.ventura.org/CEO/VCNC/2020-05-05_VCNC_Masks_Pros_and_Cons.pdf
https://www.wellspringcls.com/face-masks-pose-serious-risks/ https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/j.1600-0404.2005.00560.x lists HCW where headaches increased with mandetory mask usage (N95). Am guessing since a 2003 stressfull time that also played a part in.
This ia part of Dr Blaylock post which another website said was not correct, and no ref. (I found references) study, researchers examined the blood oxygen levels in 53 surgeons
using an oximeter. They measured blood oxygenation before surgery as
well as at the end of surgeries.4 The researchers found that the mask reduced the blood oxygen levels (pa02) significantly. The longer the duration of wearing the mask, the greater the fall in blood oxygen levels.

The importance of these findings is that a drop in oxygen levels
(hypoxia) is associated with an impairment in immunity. Studies have
shown that hypoxia can inhibit the type of main immune cells used to
fight viral infections called the CD4+ T-lymphocyte. This occurs because
the hypoxia increases the level of a compound called hypoxia inducible
factor-1 (HIF-1), which inhibits T-lymphocytes and stimulates a powerful
immune inhibitor cell called the Tregs. . This sets the stage for
contracting any infection, including COVID-19 and making the
consequences of that infection much graver. In essence, your mask may
very well put you at an increased risk of infections and if so, having a
much worse outcome.5,6,7

While looking up Dr Pall's protocol, (think he had trouble with NO/Nox reactions and maybe dysautonomia, forget. He put together a list of supps that helped him, and Some were nebulizing glutathione, and list vite c but also be cautious. I tried vite c about age 16 when felt like might get a cold but was afraid to try it as most medicines reacted to. Went for it, the whole 500mg and next day , boom, a cold. So learned for me try in little bits thru out day and see if better.
Dr Pall said be cautious -
to avoid giving high dose ascorbate to those who may have high free iron levels. In individuals with high free iron, high dose ascorbate is dangerous because it can generate high levels of Fenton chemistry.
So is that bad or good or depends?

Is any of this info was helpful if got covid and would Dr's consider using it, in hospital ?
Reseach suggests autoimmune thyroiditis,
both Hashimoto's and Grave's, may be associated with an IMBALANCE of iodine
and selenium. Both trace elements, along with zinc and iron, are needed for
healthy thyroid function and the balance (as in all things) is the key. Just
adding either (without balance) may make thyroid issues worse. Currently the
ratio is not known but likely it is not less than 500 mcg nor more than
1,000 mcg of iodine and not less than 200 mcg nor more than 400 mcg
methylselenocysteine. <span class="jrnl" face=""arial" , "helvetica" , "clean" , sans-serif" style="background-color: white; color: black; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: 11.0759px; text-align: left; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;" title="Current opinion in endocrinology, diabetes, and obesity">Curr Opin

WHile looking up Lysine : arginine ratios in foods (both are amino acids, required for human health),
wondered if sars2 virus effected like virus that causes cold sores, by diet higher in arginine (make person more suse[tible). Maybe someon can find tha info online. Have been adding Kefir (milk probiotic ) that is higher in lysine (high in arginine also, but much less than lysine). Found a note on 1 website that " potassium rich vegetables such as spinach, red/sweet potatoes, kale and asparagus for example can raise intracellular calcium and trigger herpes reactivation." Really curious how higher potassium raises calcium, so looked up. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/03/130325160231.htm they found that calcium release occurs because the viruses activate a
critical cell-signaling molecule called Akt at the cell membrane.
SO look for a AKT inhibitor?
websearch - inhibiting Akt natural treatment herbs - found quite a bit of stuff
Eat real foods, have heard of people with diabetis that rid all meds doing that, which am guessing would be better outcome if covid19. Some youtube vids on some forms of heart disease also on eating real foods and low carb, (but think depends on the person, environments, lifestyle, and genetics ) and tests that show calcium in arteries. Ivor Cummins who is YT on heart disease, and says its the plant seed oils that cause a huge problems as oxidize and damage arteries.
Increasing the concentration of intracellular zinc with zinc‐ionophores like pyrithione can efficiently impair the replication of a variety of RNA viruses.44
Selenium
Selenium is an essential trace element for mammalian redox biology.35 The nutritional status of the host plays a very important role in the defense against infectious diseases.36 Nutritional deficiency impacts not only the immune response but also the viral pathogen itself.10 Dietary selenium deficiency that causes oxidative stress in the host can alter a viral genome so that a normally benign or mildly pathogenic virus can become highly virulent in the deficient host under oxidative stress.10
B vitamins
B vitamins are water‐soluble vitamins and work as part
of coenzymes. Each B vitamin has its special functions. For example,
vitamin B2 (riboflavin) plays a role in the energy metabolism of all
cells. Vitamin B2 deficiency had been suspected to occur among US
elderly.17 Keil et al18
had reported that vitamin B2 and UV light effectively reduced the titer
of MERS‐CoV in human plasma products. Vitamin B3, also called
nicotinamide, could enhance the killing of Staphylococcus aureus through a myeloid‐specific transcription factor and vitamin B3 was efficacious in both prophylactic and therapeutic settings.19
Moreover, vitamin B3 treatment significantly inhibited neutrophil
infiltration into the lungs with a strong anti‐inflammatory effect
during ventilator‐induced lung injury. However, it also paradoxically
led to the development of significant hypoxemia.20
Well, feel kinda like off kilter abit as usually have day off of Sunday, and today feel like lazy, as
mostly sat around (did put chopped veggies , onion skin, part of chicken back, garlic, ginger in a pot).
Why did I go out yesterday to market (started pouring rain as got off bus), if had gone today (no rain but drearier), it worked out fine anyway. Got cabbage, O Kefir, Acorn squash, eggs, ...
Wonder how many people have a mild case of covid and howmany got flu or colds. So many people are learning new things, bread making, bird watching ...
Washing hands and some guy on news suggested NAILs as well. Do have a few wood/bristle nail brushes bought years ago from 99c stoe. Have been starting to wash glasses at same time, and noticed vision seems better.
Am doing laundry now, as wondered how often to wash pillowcases, hand towels or use papertowels. Were just sticking with hand towels now (son actually washed them).
Am reducing stuff carry in pockets and purse/backoack, so less stuff to sanitize and touch. Guess could spray purse with alcohol, but no stores around here have it. Find which hand and other sanitizer or disinfectants are least toxic, espec if have children. Some have instructions to use in welll ventilated area. Same with cooking, if cold or rainy out and lots of cooking, best if vent so no problem with carbon monoxide. Or electric cooker or heat water and put in thermos.... Recall a serious cold went around 10-15 yrs ago and people who hadnt turned on house heater yet, hadnt got the cold.
Am using some hydrogen peroxide and a tiny bit of alcohol left in a bottle. If make (even nonsew ) masks, rewash daily (maybe only wear 3-4hrs).
Someone said they were using orange blossoms for evening tea, found some (dont collect if pesticide sprays or near a busy road) and were nice. Dont know if healing but smelled so nice. Also saw someone had tea of Marigold, and researched and found Calendulas also nice for tea. Knew help with healing skin quickly (dont use lavender or calendula on skin unless sure not infected as have seen them heal skin quickly, so dont want to heal over infection.) I have Calendula and lavender growing. Wonder what herbs , spices we have in our cupboards and use on foods that are helpful now.
Have been trying to get stuff done and realize most people are going thru a decompressing from being busy and having more structure to figureing how to restructure in a flexible way. Figuring whats more important to do . Someone said he quit smoking when working at home as such a change in normal habits. Some children learning to play outside. Also a feel of some anxiety or mass worry. Saw an article of positive mental health effects of knitting, which could be applied as well from crochet, drawing, singing,].... https://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2016/01/25/the-health-benefits-of-knitting/
Dod see a free childrens craft at Creativebus and many free classes at Blueprint.com. Here - free knitting patterns https://www.interweave.com/free-knitting-patterns/ . https://www.creativebug.com/classseries/single/foundational-figure-drawing-heads
Things to do: Did make a list for us to go thru pantry and see what keep, use quickly , wipe out crumps. Same with fridge. (3 shelves done on pantry ). Learn to Distitch knitting, finish dying fabric with leaves and onion skins. Clean up counter of notes and papers by phone. Take pics of butterflies. Have been going on many short walks. Tried to sew a protective mask. (will try again).
Rick on the travel show has broken up Europe into 3-5 min peices for children https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTwPe-y4En0
WIll try to list ideas for sanitizing, how to do safely as some disinfectants are unhealthy for people.

Also, how well we eat, digest can help stay healthier. Some herbs are amazingly useful as well as tasty.
Also see a few rough spots under carriage on the flippers. In case anyone knows what causes or if sanding it smooth would get it back to working let me know. So many amazing people who share information and how to on their blogs and YOUTUBE ( YT). Am trying to get my pics on YT as dont have a videoer, but could use sons smart phone for that. Noticed this time the tiny bit off corner. Wonder how much would effect the knitting. Thanks for any ideas to help this knitting machine work well again. Made a vest last on it with many types of yarn but stopped near end when was concerned about machine.
Was probably 20+ years ago purchased it. Have decided to use what have or let go to someone who will, unless have a feeling a future family member might want it (My Children might have a Child/Children).
So had a old dehydrated dye in a glass yogurt, so added some water. Found some red corn cobs in a jar, and Flowering Pear bark soaking, Started a container of tannin water, poured some indigo vat (non reduced) into a jar and dipped away. Also on old linen vest top, painting across it. Only rinsed it once and it dried in hot sun. Not a lot of Blue in it, and sometimes yarn looks mauvish and then olivey.
FOund some old handwoven piece son had found at a thrift store and his Grandmother bought for him many years ago. Its here and son moved away. Whats left of it as looks motheaten. Saw a You Tube vid other day on old fingerwoven weaving and belts from diff parts of world. Lithuania and Canadian Indians. Then it looks similiar to Sprang also. Wonder where the weaving started and how it was spread. they all seem crossing threads like bobbin lace weaving.
How to fix landline or if it is the phone companies side that is "broken". Noticed some movement and looked out of window but didnt see anything moving. Then looked up higher and noticed a very small coyote or maybe it was a fox, which the way it hopped like a cat, with arched back, as though to pounce.
Went to open window and the fox heard me and turned, looking curious, then decided to keep on
in previous direction as disappeared over the hill. lynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04056688708275941877noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445440348024407894.post-19064592133714734932017-12-19T10:30:00.001-08:002017-12-19T10:30:46.122-08:00Books on Indigo, Shibori, fiberartsEmail from https://www.clothroads.com/clothroads-wish-list-new-textile-books-2017/
Monarch butterflies (along with Swallowtail, sulfurs, whites....) vist our yard. We dont have any milkweed plants and just read here https://monarchjointventure.org/resources/faq
That is better not to grow non native milkweeds for the Monarch butterfly. Also had a page with videos and 1 on growing mildweed. Harvest when seeds are brownish (press slightly on crack in pod) but dont collect a pod that is open and had Milkweed bugs on it as they also feed on the seeds and might collect non viable seeds. They used onion bags as they are breathable. The fun part is seperating from the fluff, which can stuff pillows with. Might try spinning with it but heard need the young fibers for that to work. It is very silky shiny.
SO wasnt sure it it was an almond or peach. The avocado died during several repeated blistering heat. They were from a small no fiber fruit with a small seed!
This year the peach flowered, it is about 5 feet tall and 17 fruit were ripening. We ate them and were pretty good. Were a yellow fruit and was surprised as usually get white peaches/nectarines as less acidic.
So we had this miracle of seed growing , up to age to flower, then low chill hours needed for fruiting.
The last one fell off into a pot next to tree and found partially muched. Then it disappeared, no other trouble with 'varmints on peach. They were quite frequent on the Royal grape vine.
One is a beetle, about inch long and white with stripes. Think is a False Potato bug.
The other is about 3/4" and can fly , is brownish and seems to have a tongue it moves out.
Am wondering what it does, and lives (and if bites). Woke this morning with itch and bump on leg, so put baking soda on it then later benedryl and Epsom salts but kept itching and see it has a blister. (first tried iodine on it). Figured was from walking out to grape and maybe a flea from coons or squirrels that try to eat grapes. Usually put mint spray on shoes sock legs and pant cuffs but forgot that time. lynnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04056688708275941877noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445440348024407894.post-16477514600486011552017-06-21T19:56:00.000-07:002017-06-21T19:56:26.428-07:00music with birds and cicadas Cicadas that release from pupae every so many years. http://www.radiolab.org/story/292987-septendecennial-sing-along/ whales ,
